Texas Electricity Market Report
Pöyry is pleased to announce that its independent electricity market report for Texas is now available. This is the second US market for which Pöyry produces an independent market report, after the Californian report was published last year.
The report includes wholesale price projections under our standard High, Central and Low scenarios however, as in other markets, we are also able to perform asset specific analysis and develop bespoke scenarios.
Our power market model BID3 is particularly suited for understanding the impact of weather conditions on wholesale prices. In modelling 8760 hours per year we capture the variability of intermittent wind and solar generation, and in modelling each future year with a number of different weather patterns we can present a range of wholesale prices and corresponding generation and price capture patterns for both thermal and renewable assets.
On Wednesday 8th March, Matt Brown, Richard Sarsfield-Hall and Sarah Elias led a webinar to mark the launch of the report.
You can register and view a recording of the webinar if you would like to hear in more detail what was discussed.
